In Codebie, every task can be either private or public.
By default, all tasks are private — but you can make a task public from the task settings page.
What’s the difference between private and public tasks?
A private task can only be accessed through direct invitations.
Your HR team must manually invite candidates using their email addresses.
A public task has a shareable link that anyone can access.
Candidates can visit this link, enter their email address, and automatically receive an invitation.
This allows companies to share challenges more broadly — for example, on social media, job listings, or their own careers page.
How to make a task public
Open the task detail page
Go to the Settings tab
Press the "Make public" button
Once enabled, your task will have a public URL like:
(where acme is your company identifier, and js-task is your task identifier)
When candidates open this page, they’ll see a simple form to enter their email and request an invitation. Once submitted, they’ll receive an email to join the assessment.
Public tasks are a great way to let candidates opt in — no manual invitations required.
